(1) The following foreigners and their families shall be granted professional visas on the recommendation of the concerned authorities –
(a) Foreigners who have received permission to invest in commercial or industrial businesses within Nepal or authorized representatives of such commercial or industrial organizations.
(b) Foreigners licensed to invest in export business from Nepal. (c) Foreigners who come to Nepal from a third country and buy and export goods manufactured in Nepal or give purchase orders for export.
(2) Except as otherwise provided in this regulation, professional visas will be granted for a maximum of five years at a time and can be extended as needed. (2a) Notwithstanding anything written in sub-rule (2), a foreigner under clause (c) of sub-rule (1) shall be granted a five-year multiple-entry professional visa to stay in Nepal for ninety days at a time. (2b) If the visa holder is unable to complete the business transaction within the period given to stay in Nepal in accordance with sub-rule (2a) and submits an application with relevant evidence, the visa holder may renew the visa for the period of stay in Nepal as mentioned in sub-rule (2a) based on his work efficiency.
